Today we were back (despite another 2-hour delay) and ready to prepare for CFA #5! Students were given a copy of the study guide to take home with them this weekend. We also played Kahoot! to engage in our classic, fun review.
NOTE: while some questions were worded a bit differently from the study guide, playing this game allowed students to get extra exposure to content and allowed me to give mini minute-lessons to review.
I will post the answer key to the study guide tomorrow (Saturday) evening to give equal amounts of time for independent practice (today and Saturday) and to correct any errors/study in full force for the time leading up to the CFA.
Looking to next week, we will begin our study of the hydrosphere! Want to get a jump-start on next week’s vocabulary words or homework assignments? Click below!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here next week!
UPDATE: There will be no school tomorrow, February 26th! Please make sure you download the study guide below to allow some extra independent prep time for your CFA# 5 🙂
Today students were given the opportunity to wrap up their Text Tuesday assignments (scroll down to see the post on that assignment).
Tomorrow (weather permitting), we will be reviewing for our CFA which will be given on Friday, February 27th! In the event that there is no school tomorrow, I’m going to post the study guide here!
CFA 5 Study Guide
Make sure to review your interactive notebooks – pages 54 through 67 for assistance. Also, study your flashcards! Perhaps you can find a family member to play BoomBag with you!
I hope everyone has a warm, safe evening!
Today in class we deepened our knowledge and understanding of energy sources by reading our Text Tuesday and answering the questions in a somewhat “unconventional” format.
We used pages 66 and 67 of our notebooks as our canvas and answered the questions in a visually appealing notes-like format (see below). This approach is preferable as it will make us more inclined to see a visual, read about the text and make connections so we are better able to recall the information in the future (kind of like a notes/response based version of our weekly flashcards!).
You can find the text by clicking the link below.
Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy Sources Text Tuesday
Have a great evening!
Hey all –
Just a quick update! Today students handed in their homework and flashcards on renewable and nonrenewable resources. We really used today to get back on track. Students without these assignments had the opportunity to work on them in class. Students who did hand in their homework had the opportunity to work on their foldables from Friday.
Scroll down to see Friday’s post for more information!
Have a great evening,
